“The trauma is not in the event, but in the nervous system.”

Support trauma-informed help for children, teenagers and young adults

With your donation, you will help to improve our understanding of developmental trauma, prevent trauma and make trauma-sensitive support available where it is most urgently needed – in schools, kindergarten, hospices and through support for professionals who work with people affected by trauma.

Further ways to help

Donations rather than presents

Whether it’s a birthday, an anniversary or a business celebration: make your event something special and ask your guests to make a donation instead of giving gifts.
Here’s how it works:

  • Mention the option of making a donation in your invitation.
  • Share our donation account details or the link to the online donation page with your guests.
  • Use a personal reference code so that donations can be allocated correctly.

Donations in memory of the deceased

Some people wish, when a loved one passes away, to leave something behind that will help others. A memorial donation offers the opportunity to support trauma-sensitive projects or provide individual support to affected clients and young people in memory of a loved one.
Here’s how you can arrange a memorial donation:

  • Please include a reference to a donation to our foundation in the obituary or invitation.
  • Please include our donation account details and a reference (e.g. the name of the deceased).
  • On request, we will inform you of the total amount of donations received.
  • You can specify whether the donations should go towards a specific project or towards individual support for those affected.

Bequest

If you would like to leave something behind, a bequest in your will can provide long-term help and support projects that will continue to make a difference beyond your own lifetime. In this way, your commitment will endure and ensure that trauma-sensitive support continues to be provided where it is needed, now and in the future.
Here’s how you can include a bequest in your will:

  • Include our foundation in your will – either as a beneficiary or by leaving a specific sum (bequest).
  • Ideally, seek legal advice on this matter, e.g. from a notary or a solicitor.
  • If you have any questions or require further information, you can contact us and the legal team at Caritas in confidence at any time.
